Balthazar's class had just ended and he sat in the classroom as the other students left. He had taken notes he planned to go over later in his room. Balthazar was organized and took care to organize todays notes. After putting it in the folder he stood up and left the class room. It was nearing noon and his stomach started to rumble. He had hoped to get study a few incantations before lunch, but his stomach wouldn't allow it, so he made his way to the Great Hall. They had some nice food there, he was glad that they fed them well.
He finally arrived at the Great Hall. It had a lot of kids in there and more pouring in. Looking up it appeared to be sunny with a few clouds. The sun rays looked so real the way they lit up everything, it would be hard for someone to believe it was only a spell to simply mimic the outside weather. Balthazar took a seat and started to fix his plate. They had a nice spread to day, Balthazar would have to watch himself, he didn't want to gain unwanted pounds by eating so much at mealtimes. He looked around and same other kids with the same idea of pigging out.
Balthazar's smile was ever present as he sat there. Some people thought that he was always happy for no apparent reason. In reality, he was just a swirl of mixing thoughts and emotions. There were few things that made him truly happy. One thing was learning more and more spells, he just had a sort of thirst for learning more. He could probably genuine be as happy as he appeared if he was placed in a different house. He glanced at some the Slytherin students. He even waved at one. He found the majority of them to be so full of themselves it made him sick. Some of them thought so highly of themselves just because they were pure-bloods. Balthazar ate a roll as he thought about this. Being so proud of something your parents did, it was a ridiculous philosophy. He had to admit though, being pure-blood was better than being known as a muggle-born as he was. No one would ever find out though, he made sure of it. He let out a sigh and started to look over a few of his notes from class.
