Sample Post: Taken from CHB || Wandering || Diana Meade Diana inclined her head slightly, her silvery hair moving and casting a silvery glow. She didn't respond but she knew Luna knew what she was nodding to. She opened her hand and a bow appeared, then vanished, a little knife replacing it. She made no gesture to attack, simply looking at it a moment. She remembered the time when the Hunters visited a school... She had though there was an attack but i was just a mortal... one who could see through the mist. It was odd how some mortals could do that. There was a faint mark on the knife but when she rubbed her finger over it, the mark vanished. The mortal had back at the school though to throw a knife you held the blade with your thumb and forefinger, which was ridiculous, you would end up cutting herself. She knew from experience that people weren't accustomed to seeing a gentle or graceful figure holding such a weapon. the knife vanished. It was a hunter thing, the weapons came and went as needed. Interesting, she thought. Her voice was nearly as powerful as a weapon. She hated speaking because she feared she would hurt some one.
Luna then commented on how her voice was a powerful weapon of trickery. She nodded again and spoke in a low voice, keeping the ring of persuasion out of it, "But it's only used if absolutely necessary times." she amended. She shot Luna a look, just a bit of amusement. She recalled the time when the a mortal wouldn't leave the hunters. Then Lady Artemis had given her permission. She put a sharp sting in her words and told him to leave. She wasn't sure what had happened to him, perhaps he was still trying to shake the ghost of her voice out of his head... the though left her and she focused back on the others. When she looked at Lance with her soft gaze, he returned it, and it was clear that he was intrigued by her parentage. She filled herself with the calmness of the forest and kept silent.
Diana glanced at the creek, the water was flowing at the usual speed she tilted her head slightly and the water increased and decreased a bit, the sound getting louder and softer she let the flow go. She was slightly bored and the water entertained her a little, her father who was a son of Poseidon had passed on a little bit of talent with the water, but not as much as the power of her voice. Just then she picked up on what Luna was saying about the gods. She spoke again, unsure if she could keep ahold of her control, "They aren't so perfect, though they keep things in order... mostly" she said the last word in a softer voice. Darn, she almost lost control. She would have to hold her tongue for a while. She didn't usually speak nearly this much but when she did people seemed to think she had some insights that others didn't notice so much.
She noted Luna's use of the wise words which wasn't surprising because she was a daughter of Athena. Diana agreed with many of Athena's words and pieces of advice. She agreed with Athena and Artemis' words. As for her mother, she had some interesting ideas but usually she and the other sirens were busy singing and luring in food. Diana remembered the island well, she remembered being a vegetarian as opposed to following her mother's example of eating humans. She didn't really find humans that appetizing which was probably because she never tasted the human flesh.
Luna was talking again and Diana focused her words, "Some of us have no desire to make our mortal parents proud, but yes- don't we all seek approval from our immortal parents?" Diana didn't respond she knew her voice would be beautifully painful if she spoke, like a her mothers. She just nodded to Luna who just shot her a look. She tilted her head and spoke, motioning for Lance and Thalia to cover their ears. "It tis not that much difference, just that they are different sorts of creatures. I do try to make my mother proud." she stopped speaking and motioned that she was done. She hoped they could lip read or Luna could tell them what she had been saying.
There was a long science and Diana went back to "playing" with the water. it was kind of fun, but it was too bad she couldn't do much else with the water. She wondered in the Poseidon boy could teach her a little bit more about the water. She was sure he could though she knew a lot because of her mother. Though she knew more about the Sea of Monsters because that was where she had been born.
Luna spoke again, "You can't let yourself be influenced by your parents. That's simply idiotic. How will you ever grow and learn? You'll be a follower for the remainder of your existence if you do so. Personally, I would like to more...hidden- elusive, you might say. But, that doesn't mean that I can't express my opinion. Diana looked at her. Luna was always slightly on the more cool and cold side than most of the hunters, she was a nice person though maybe not to they guys, but to the rest of the hunters. She spoke slightly forcefully but Diana made no comment. She only sighed and nodded in agreement. She couldn't talk without getting someone hurt.
She looked at the Zeus girl Thalia for the first time in a while, she seemed a bit... distant. She had noted earlier that she and Lance had put their heads together and talked for a bit but she hadn't really tried to listen. It seemed to have left both distant or sad. Diana didn't comment but caught Thalia's eyes. Her own eyes reflected a question to Thalia. She looked back at Luna and Lance. She understood Luna and Lance fairly well, but the Zeus girl was a challenge. It was hard to read her and wondered what she really thought about everything.
