There are four common rooms located in Hogwarts, one for each House. Common rooms are where the members of each House socialize and relax. Generally, one must enter a password in order to gain access to the common room. Passwords change regularly, so make sure to get them from the Prefects!

Ah, of course. Can’t conduct classes without these things. Hogwarts is a school after all. Teaching and moulding young wizards and witches into trained, competent ones is its primary objective, and this is where it usually happens. Different classes have different classrooms, so be sure not to get them mixed up.

Countless corridors are found within the castle of Hogwarts. These connect the rooms, the staircases and the offices. Most students pass through them to get to class, leading to a positive combination of noise and activity from the students. Try not to get lost in all the shifting and mysterious corridors though.

Sub-boards: Filch's Office, Astronomy Tower, Broom Closets, Bathrooms, Room of Requirements, Kitchens, Trophy Room, Owlery, Detention, Hospital Wing

The spectacular, beautiful and picturesque area surrounding the Hogwarts castle, the Lake, the Pitch, the Forest and the Gardens can be found here. Vast and spacious, it is easy to get lost in all the areas, so be careful, and try not to stray too far from the well-worn paths. Although one can never know what’s hidden in these Grounds, unless one checks for oneself…

Sub-boards: The Forbidden Forest , Green House, The Black Lake, Hagrid's Home, The Whomping Willow

A seedy and unsavoury counterpart to the mainstream Diagon Alley, lots of shady proceedings happen here. Peddlers and dark shops are situated here, away from the prying eyes of the Wizarding public. Occasional crimes also occur here, from petty theft to murders, so you watch yourself, alright?

Sub-board: Borgin & Burks

The Wizarding Government’s seat of power. All offices and departments of the government are found here. The wizards here run the wizarding world in England, with the main objective of hiding their very existence from the Muggles. So try and keep a civil manner whenever you pay a visit here, alright?

Sub-boards: Groundfloor, Department of Magical Law Enforcement

A magical hospital in London, this is where most wizards, witches and other magical creatures get treatment for all magic – related ailments. The facilities and Healers are first class, and the entire place just reeks of efficiency. You’ll be fixed up in no time, as long as you do what your healers tell you.

A Wizarding community where a few prominent families, such as the Potters and the Dumbledores, reside. Generally a busting and friendly place, and the neighbours maintain good relationships with one another.

Sub-board: Cemetery

A Muggle train station right in the heart of London, it is also used by Wizards, Hogwarts students in particular, to get to the school through a secret platform, 9 and 3/4, only accessible by Wizards. Don't be nervous when you push your trolley, or else...

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's seat of power, nobody knows exactly where this is located. He summons his servants, the Death Eaters, by the use of the Dark Mark. Beware, this is not a safe place for those who do not support the Dark Lord.

The place where the worst wizards are kept. Situated in a lonely, rocky and rainy island, the menacing Wizarding prison is filled with the howls of inmates and the cold presence of Dementors. Never, ever aspire to be put in this forsaken place, where the very light and life inside you will be drained slowly, painfully, bit by bit.
